This week ANTHONY CUNNINGHAM’S ROSCOMMON back-room team was confirmed, with club managers Iain Daly and Mark Dowd both coming on board as selectors.
Daly recently stepped down from his role as the manager of the Michael Glavey's club, having guided them to the 2018 All-Ireland intermediate-final. The Roscommon side lost out to Moyside in Croke Park.
Strokestown's Dowd was a selector with the Roscommon minor side, which won the 2006 All-Ireland final after famously defeating Kerry in a replay. Dowd also led Ballaghaderreen to a Mayo senior title in 2012 before he went on to manage the Roscommon U21s. He previously served as a senior selector with Roscommon when they claimed Connacht senior honours in 2010.
Roscommon’s new strength and conditioning coach has been confirmed as Noel Flynn from the Lucan Sarsfields. Flynn has previously been part of Peter Creedon’s back-room when he was with Laois. Flynn is a highly-regarded sporting figure who played in a star-studded NUI Maynooth Sigerson Cup team when he attended the university.
Cunningham was announced as Roscommon’s new senior football manager earlier this month. The former Galway hurling boss took over from Kevin McStay, who stepped aside in September and revealed his decision to retire from senior inter-county management at the same time.
