BREAKING: Fifth man arrested in connection with Falsk investigation released without charge6/2/2019 The man who was arrested in Longford this morning in relation to the Falsk investigation has been released without charge. He was arrested as part of the investigation by Gardai into an alleged pre-dawn attack at a repossessed house in Strokestown on the morning of December 16th last. A man in his 50s was arrested in Longford on Wednesday morning, as part of the ongoing Garda investigation into the allegations of assault and criminal damage. Gardai confirmed that following the search of a house in the Killoe area of Co Longford a man was arrested. He was detained at Castlerea Garda station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939 and was released without charge on Wednesday evening. Gardaí are preparing a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Four people have been arrested previously in connection with the alleged incidents, two of whom have been charged and were subsequently released on bail. The other two men, who were arrested before Christmas, were released without charge following 48-hour periods of detention and questioning. |
